Deflector shields + sniper cannons and rear dumbfire rockets

So far 4 of these DEs vs 2 zuul CRs has a result of 37.5% kill/death batting average. I think that's pretty good

The only thing that bugs me is, would stormers make a better composition?

What race are your DDs? Are you using deflectors on all your DDs or just some? What weapons are the Zuul using? Do you have a sense of whether the Zuul have armour?

In general I would probably avoid stormers unless you know the Zuul are unarmoured. I would also build 2 ship classes, one class that focused on maximizing snipers to put behind & slightly to the side of my front line, and another class that focused on durability (including deflectors if appropriate) and is there to engage the enemy at close range & protect the snipers.

Is there any mod that makes gauss guns more damaging? Higher rate of fire?

I can't believe no one ever did a Star Trek portraits mod. Tarka klingons, morrigi romulans, hivers ferengi etc

Certainly it's easy to mod weapon properties, you should be able to find tutorials in the modding section of the forum.
