In the youtube comments of a video depicting the destruction of the MCRN Donnager in The Expanse a lot of people are expressing disbelief that the ship would lose a battle against a fleet of about 6 unknown vessels.
However from a sots perspective I think this makes a lot of sense.
The Donnager appears to be a DN class flagship equipped with railguns, some kind of torpedo or missile, and "PDCs" which are more or less gauss PD. The 6 attackers are CR with stealth, nuke missiles, railguns (I'm not sure sots has stealth + railgun section), and boarding pods.
Ultimately in the battle the Donnager PDCs fail to prevent several direct hits by missiles and a barrage of railgun fire which causes a shutdown of their engines (also unrealistic for a sots DN) followed by boarding action and defeat. It seems reasonable to me that 6-7 Tark antimatter CR with accelerators and BP could disable and destroy a DN of any race except maybe Morrigi. Railguns are not ideal for a DN vs CR since the CR are much faster.
It seems to me the tactical error of the Donnager was travelling without a CR escort and complete lack of mid range weapons (eg antimatter emitters, AP MDs, turret beams, etc).
Am I wrong that 6 CR could easily destroy a flagship DN in this scenario?

Re: The Donnager battle
its more than possible especially if you read up on the lore of the Donnager.
Re: The Donnager battle
who invented "node missiles"? they look like from kerbal space program. every time i shoot 20 or 30 of them into a tarka DS DE i feel like im committing a crime
