Had a great Psion run going, getting fairly lucky with my weapon containers, fair number of materials lined up for the eventual lab station, finally had the food and biotech skill to sustain myself. Whistling along floor 16, I've finished the floor and am going about my business shuttling materials as my tesseract well RNG had been poor. And I hit a wormhole trap!
I still had my bare bones combat kit on, I grenade, TK fist and shoot my way through floor. A heavy Morrigi drone somehow evades an EMP gernade and nearly one shots me, taking out all my medical supplies. With a large protean on my tail I climb back up to floor 17 and claw myself through the floor with heavy psionic usage, running down to no ammo left in my weapons. I find myself near the floor 16 ladder, moving around the room to flank a monster and hit a second wormhole trap. I'm quickly gunned down by a Hiver commander in floor 20.
With a few chores left to do on Sunday, it's nice that The Pit left me the rest of the day to finish them!

You know the worst part? Thats "working as intended". They are there to draw you out of your comfort zone, and they do! High brains help at spotting them.

What I find curious about the brains for trap detection is that the Psion has innate high brains, however this run he was hitting traps left right and center. A Tarka Ranger run I was doing earlier was much better about detecting traps before setting them off. I don't know if trap detection is solely a function of brains in the latest release.
