Medical units are grouped in with support battalions usually. For large battles, a 25'th century med company can set up the equivalent of a fully capable hospital in a matter of hours.

Seems more like a battlegroup or small brigade to me. It's lots smaller than the US armored divisions of WW2. The organisation above is smaller than the Swedish armoured brigades of the 60's and 70's.

the future holds lots of force multipliers and solforce has less personnel throw around than other military organizations. ;)

Less personnel as in less people? Or, less personnel as in being new to the game don't have the same ability to effectively deploy them? Or, less personnel as in don't have a warrior type caste? Or, a combo?

wow! that's a lot of choices from a relatively simple statement. Military structure is most of based on how available raw manpower is at any given moment and the cost of equipment that improves the effectiveness of said manpower per individual. ;)

How are the Factions in terms of effectiveness, roles, strategy? like what do the Tarka excel at that the Humans don't? or Hivers? their strengths/weaknesses in comparison to each other, mind giving a snippet?

It was less critique and more the observation that SolForce seems to have abandoned the regiment/brigade/battlegroup/combat command level, and replaced them with the division. Makes me wonder how their structures above division look like.

How are things like close air support and maritime operations integrated into their army units? are any of the major concepts that the US army tried to implement for Future Combat Systems http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_Combat_Systems (drones, automated ground vehicles, informational integration, etc)?

Not all fcs things worked as well in reality as they do on funding papers, especially in a fair fight, :P but yes a lot of the force multipliers are in the nature of robotic logistical systems, info sharing and fire support integration. When it come to the integration of very small formations in a mix and match structures it was found that this was ruinous to the ability of larger core formations to function in a coherent way under large battlefield conditions as opposed to counter-insurgency deployments. Because of this, solforce tends to favour larger company and squadron sized "speciality" formations that may end up serving the needs of multiple larger formations over the course of a battle but still retain coherent structure and organization unto themselves. So over the course of a day, a close support squadron may be allocating elements to many different requests but its command unit is not surrendering those elements to the command of other formations. As it turned out, the great leaps in C3 made unit command coherency more useful again.

So there are still vestiges of services branches- army, navy, air force- and not a "grand single service" ?

And anyways about FCS, I was always a bit skeptical about what giving every soldier "battlefield internet" would do and the actual efficacy of the test brigades using it now. Though FCS was supposed to counter conventional forces and potentially integration of the forces, improved info flow was supposed to greatly speed ask aspects of information and enable a force to effectively "get inside" even non-conventional forces OODA loop. Frankly, the money would have probably been better spent implementing dale brown's 'tin man' battle suits. Heh. Now those would be a paradigm shift in warfare.
